Hello everyone!

Remember those four books that were released a while back that were never translated into English? And a fan, Rhys Davies, started translating them himself but never finished?

Well, good news! For those who aren't aware already, the English team over at en.CodeLyoko.fr have piggybacked on the success of their project to translate books 3 and 4 into French, and are currently working on getting all four into English!

The novels, dubbed the "Code Lyoko Chronicles", delve deeper into the show's backstory, allowing us to find out more about Franz Hopper, the men in black and what became of Anthea. It's like an alternate ending to the series than Code Lyoko Evolution, if you will. With an intriguing plot, many secrets to be revealed and two warring powers for the gang to deal with, they really are worth the read.

So far we've completed books 1, 2 and 3, kickstarted by Rhys Davies' past work (thank you so much!):

[Book 1: The Underground Castle]

Translated by Rhys Davies, 1Vaporeon and A-queenoffairys

[Book 2: The Nameless City]

Translated by Rhys Davies, 1Vaporeon and A-queenoffairys

[Book 3: The Return of the Phoenix]

[Last version: Complete!]
Translated by 1Vaporeon and A-queenoffairys

[Book 4: The Army of Nothing]

[Last version: Prologue & 1 chapter]
Translated by 1Vaporeon and A-queenoffairys

Have a nice read!

The author made certain characters say sexist things. Ulrich and Jeremy (especially Jer, man!) would not say stuff like "it's a woman's job", and "it's too dangerous for girls". I wasn't happy.

I thought the same thing as you here.

Then again, I faintly remember an episode where Yumi was talking about women's intuition and the boys were making jokey comments about it, and I think there were some awkward slight sexist comments made but I'd have to rewatch.

True, those parts were a drag x_x I'm glad Yumi didn't sit back and take those comments though, that would've been very unlike her. I also noticed Ulrich really despised Kiwi (death threats and all) but then got furious at Yumi for not going out to find him herself in book 2 :/

The books certainly aren't perfect, but at least they give us more backstory and a more intriguing plot than Evolution, I guess.

The guy who wrote this should have payed even more attention to the show. Even so, the books are a lot better than Evolution, and do not deviate from the show too much.  As for Ulrich and Kiwi, I never thought he hated Kiwi. He was annoyed with the little dog, yeah, but there was never any malice present in his demeanor despite the fact  that he and Jeremy tried to use Kiwi as a guinea pig.

I agree.
